The General Faith of the Church
1. The Hypostases (Persons) in the Unity of the Trinity
The Church believes in the One God, Triune in Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, as the Word of God has clarified in the Holy Bible:
a. God the Father is self-existent and the source of life.
b. God the Son, the Word (Logos), the articulated Mind of God, who became incarnate in the form of a man, our Lord Jesus Christ.
c. God the Holy Spirit, God living by His Spirit, and He is also the source of life like the Father and the Son.
All the Persons are equal in divinity (Godhead) and distinct in operation.
(Deut 6:4, Matt 28:19, 1 Tim 2:5, 2 Cor 13:14, Rom 1:20)
2. Christ
He is God the Son Incarnate, who took the form of a man to fulfill the work of redemption and salvation. He is equal to God the Father in the divine essence. We believe that His humanity is united with His divinity; it did not depart from it, nor did they mix (without confusion, mixture, or change) together, nor did one affect or was affected by the other. Christ is fully God and fully man; perfect divinity and perfect humanity.
(Matt 1:23, Luke 1:35, John 1:14, Phil 2:5-7, Acts 4:12)
3. The Holy Spirit
He is the Spirit of the Holy God, and He is one of the Persons of the Godhead. He possesses the same divine essence and is equal with the Father and the Son.
(John 15:26, 1 John 5:7, Acts 5:3-4)
4. The Holy Bible
It is the living Word of God, infallible (inerrant), and it is the sole source and the sole constitution for faith and works. It was written by holy men of God moved by the Holy Spirit.
(2 Tim 3:16-17, John 5:39, 2 Pet 1:19-21, 1 Pet 1:25)
5. Faith and Works
The Church believes that faith, not works, is what leads to salvation through the acceptance of Christ’s work and the work of the Cross, and this faith is accompanied by genuine repentance from the heart.
6. Christ’s Resurrection, Ascension, and Second Coming
The Church believes that Christ died on the Cross, was buried in a tomb, rose from the dead on the third day, ascended into the heavens, sat at the right hand of the Majesty, and will come again in His glory and the glory of the Father.
7. The Church
We believe that the Church is the unity of the Body, composed of all believers everywhere, and it is the Body of Christ, who is the Head of the Church, its Master, and its Great Shepherd.
